Elie Wiesel, Author of night, Aged 12

Our English class is studying the memoir Night, by Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel.

I worked in a group with Cliff, Kobain and Orlando to create an Empathy Map for Elie at this age.

At the start of the book, Elie is 12 years old. He is the only son out of his family, his sisters names are Hilda, Bea and Tzipora. His family lives in Sighet, Elie is very pious. Elies dad cared about people in the community more than his own kin. Elie was unhappy that he couldn't find a master to teach him kabbalah. There is also a man named Moishe, Moishe the beadle. He lived in poor and utter penury, physically he is awkward as a clown.Eli met Moishe in 1941. One day Elie told Moishe how he was unhappy that he couldn't find a master in Sighet to teach him Zohar, the kabbahlistic works and the secrets of jewish mysticism. But Elie gained a master that day, Moishe.
